This month, Eat This, Not That! published its roundup of the five steakhouses with the best ribeye and baked potato, according to diners. Stonewood Grill & Tavern is on that list.
For your local Stonewood, which first opened its doors more than 20 years ago, this is a meaningful moment. There are thousands of steakhouses across the country, and being named among some of the top steakhouses in the nation is an honor we don’t take lightly.
About Eat This, Not That!
Eat This, Not That! is a well-established national food and lifestyle publication based in New York. Its coverage focuses on restaurants, and it reaches more than 110 million users each year, which makes this recognition one that diners all over the country will see.
A Decision Six Years in the Making
Six years ago, Chef Danny Manzur decided to invest in our ribeye. Our team began cutting every ribeye fresh in our own kitchens. Chef Danny refined the specs and removed the lip, turning it into a true Delmonico-style cut.
A high percentage of steakhouses buy their steaks already cut and portioned by outside suppliers. Stonewood does what others don’t. Our team hand-trims every steak in our own kitchens, and our fish too.
It wasn’t the easy path. Cutting in-house takes more labor and a bigger investment in every plate. Chef Danny made the call anyway, because he believed in putting our best into the steak our neighbors order. Seeing that ribeye on a national list tells us the extra care shows.
The Dish Behind the Honor
The article highlights our Delmonico Ribeye paired with a Jacketed Baked Potato. The Delmonico is a 14-ounce, well-marbled cut, hand-cut in our kitchens and finished over our oak grill. Doing our steak cutting and hand-trimming in-house allows us to provide the best eating experience for all of our guests.
Where This Recognition Came From
What makes this list special is that it was built on what diners had to say. The review featured for Stonewood came from a first-time visitor at your local Stonewood who called the ribeye the best steak they’d ever had and said the service was every bit as memorable. That’s the kind of evening we work toward at every table, every night.
Thank You, Neighbors
This honor belongs to Chef Danny, to the grill cooks and servers at your local Stonewood, and to the regulars who keep pulling up a chair with us year after year. You’ve made Stonewood your neighborhood restaurant, and now the rest of the country is hearing about it.
If it’s been a while since you’ve enjoyed the ribeye, we would be delighted to host you. Reserve your table.
