Tiramisu with chocolate dust

Shopping List
12 Servings

INGREDIENTS:

1/3 cup Sugar
2 Tbsps. Water
2 Egg (whites)
6 oz. Marscapone Cheese
1/3 cup Strong Coffee
1/3 cup Kahlua liqueur
9 Ladyfingers, split in halves
1 oz Semisweet Chocolate, finely chopped or grated

Preparation

MARSCAPONE MIXTURE:

  1. Bring sugar and water to a boil in a saucepan over high heat, stirring to dissolve sugar.
  2. Boil uncovered 1 minute and remove from heat.
  3. Lightly beat egg whites with an electric mixer. While mixer is on medium speed, slowly pour hot sugar syrup into egg whites and continue mixing until whites are stiff and glossy.
  4. Continue beating about 2 minutes, until mixture is cool.
  5. Beat in marscapone 1 oz.. at a time at high speed until smooth.

TIRAMISU::

  1. Combine coffee and Kahlua in a bowl.
  2. Dip cut sides of half the ladyfingers into coffee mixture. Arrange rounded side up in a single layer in the bottom of a 9 x 13 baking pan.
  3. Spread half of the cheese mixture and sprinkle with half the chocolate over the lady fingers.
  4. Dip remaining ladyfingers in coffee mixture and arrange rounded side up over cheese layer.
  5. Drizzle any remaining coffee mixture over ladyfingers and spread with remaining cheese mixture.
  6. Sprinkle with remaining chocolate.
  7. Refrigerate up to 12 hours and serve.
