"I have learned over the
years just how important
variety is – not just in
flavors but in dish styles
as well."

Editor's Flavor - Celebrating our next decade
During the course of my travels I always make it a point to ask people what their favorite restaurant is. Inevitably, they respond with the name of their local place. A place they know, are comfortable with, and can always count on. A place where people know them on a first name basis. The people that I have spoken with always refer to their local, neighborhood restaurant as "that’s my place". These comments have been the driving force behind the continued evolution of Stonewood Restaurants. We are always careful to locate our restaurants in a neighborhood setting. This is especially important in times like these when time is precious and money is tight. Guests no longer care to drive miles and miles to dine out. In a word, driving simply adds to an already stressful day. Dining out is so much more relaxing when a guest can make a short hop to a local, neighborhood restaurant like Stonewood. The setting is warm and inviting. The menu has expanded to include a greater variety of dish styles that fit any occasion, any appetite and every budget. The staff is friendly and chances are you’ll see neighbors or friends you know and and enjoy having conversation with. I have learned over the years just how important variety actually is. Sometimes guests are in the mood for a filet and a bottle of wine. And other times it’s just a quick break out of the house, casually dressed and a perfect evening for a delicious hamburger and a cold beer. We at Stonewood appreciate the fact that you’ve come to know us as your neighborhood restaurant. We’ve all gone to the numerous chain restaurants that surround our communities. While they have their place in the number of options to choose from, they just don’t deliver the same kind of experience that a local restaurant can. Even though there are 17 Stonewoods located throughout Florida and North Carolina, each of our restaurants is tailored to meet the likes of the local community. Each Stonewood has its own unique personality. Our family of Stonewood restaurants is my home away from home. Not because I’m the CEO but, more importantly because I truly enjoy the atmosphere, the food, and the people. Chef Mike has done a great job of creating some very exciting dishes which you’ll see more of in this issue. And, as always, we will continue to strive at our very best to create fond memories for you, your family and your friends. The next time you’re in a Stonewood and if you see me please don’t hesitate to come over and say hello. Stonewood is about people enjoying themselves and their surroundings. I always welcome new ideas and opinions. Look forward to seeing you and as always...enjoy! Doug Sullivan, CEO of Stonewood Grill & Tavern |
